ENM Solutions is excited to announce that on 3 December 2019, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved Camelot Terrace CTS 10067 Body Corporate’s application for an individual exemption from the requirement to hold a retailer authorisation under the National Energy Retail Law.

For an existing residential site to be “retrofitted” with an Embedded Network, a thorough and rigorous process must be followed in order to obtain “Informed Consent” from Occupiers. Once the consent is received, an Individual Exemption can be applied for. The “process” is not defined in the various rules and regulations which makes an Individual Exemption difficult to obtain. If the AER is not satisfied that Occupiers have provided their “Informed Consent”, I.e. Occupiers are not fully aware of the changes to the way they receive electricity, then the Individual Exemption may not be approved.

Congratulations to the Body Corporate at Camelot Terrace for receiving a retail and network exemption. ENM Solutions is very proud to be involved in this project and we look forward to working on the Microgrid plans in the near future – solar generation and battery storage.
