The Modern Energy Challenge

Consumers are grappling with the rising cost of electricity, the threat of reliability, and the necessity of reducing their carbon footprint. The result is a push towards electricity independence and self-sustainability, with more solutions available than ever before. This challenge requires cost-effective electricity solutions that maximise the use of renewable energy and enable communities to, either individually or collectively, benefit from the communal generation, storage and supply.

With clients in all major cities, we partner with some of the country’s most knowledgeable consultants, service providers and equipment manufacturers to conceptualise, design, implement and manage the future of this energy transition.

Alongside these challenges, emerging technologies, increasing connectivity, and instant access to information and products in the National Electricity Market is rapidly changing customer expectations and behaviour. Meanwhile, regulators are consistently releasing revisions and extensions to laws, rules and guidelines to stay up to date.

Embedded Networks and Microgrids

Over time, the gap between a conventional Microgrid and an Embedded or Private Electricity Network has closed. Microgrids of any form are in some way built from an Embedded Network template, and this term now reflects much more accurately the modern private electricity network. A network operating at full renewable energy capacity, designed and built with energy efficiency and modern complements to our environment in mind.

The introduction of new market roles, evolving regulation and innovative service models has seen the opportunity for private electricity networks forming a Microgrid or embedded network to play a key role in future energy solutions. Not only this but the service offerings available to tenants and owners of these networks could not be further from what it was even five years ago.

ENM Solutions’ suite of Professional Services, supported by our experienced team and partners, enables the stakeholders to have confidence their private electricity network is being run successfully, fairly and legally.

Identifying the state of play - Addressing the ‘how’ rather than just the ‘what’.

ENM Solutions streamlines the collaborative process of planning, executing, adapting, and managing your energy strategy for the future. Engaging with the right partner who understands the intricacies of your energy environment and assesses and manages these elements holistically, with your interests in mind, will bring you the most efficient and effective result.

We start with working backwards from what you want to achieve, by defining goals and setting stage gates, which will help set your budget and allocate responsibilities. The next step is defining what you want to achieve by evaluating ‘non-essential' upgrades, such as solar generation, battery storage, lighting and electric vehicle (EV) charging; and ‘essential’ upgrades, including switchboard and wiring (for safety and amperage requirements), roofing membrane (for installing solar generation), and Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC).

Our process of collaboration captures the broader economic, social, technological, environmental, and compliance-related issues and opportunities early, and ensures all relevant stakeholders are involved and informed.

Independent Expert Support

Acting as your voice in the industry, ENM Solutions is a specialist in the performance, understanding and interpretation of the ENM Role; we provide a valuable independence that removes any perceived conflict of interest within the network between Owners, Operators, Customers or suppliers. Our clients are never caught by surprise with regular updates about significant compliance updates as they occur, and the industry evolves.

Retaining the independence of this role allows us to be agnostic to the partners of all stakeholders involved, rather than bringing pre-determined suppliers or partnerships with us, that you may be locked into. This enables our teams to work across and with a variety of Embedded Networks and partners, bringing best-practice learnings to your Embedded Network. This industry experience and knowledge enables discounted consulting, including compliance basics such as assessing your invoices, invoice layouts, policies and procedures.

Our engagement and industry experience ensures we can mitigate any risk arising from Political/Regulatory decisions, Environmental liabilities, operational changes at your Networks and Management decisions within your business.
