From our experience, the hardest part of progressing into the Embedded Network or Microgrid space is finding the right partner. A partner you can trust, that has proven solutions, that knows the industry, but doesn’t provide the whole suite of services and infrastructure. They should be able to help manage your direction while you learn and grow, help you make decisions and look after your best interests.
That’s what ENM Solutions provides.
Our suite of Professional Services, tailored to multi-tenanted buildings across the National Electricity Market, can help with every step of your future or existing Embedded Network and Microgrid. Our services include Consultancy, Project Management and ‘Embedded Network Manager’ Services. Regardless of your role or position in developing the future of an electricity grid, we have a tailored solution to help.
Our solutions:
An Embedded Network is a privately owned and operated electricity network confined within a multi-tenant development. Customers’ consumption is consolidated to a single connection point, called the Parent Meter, which connects directly to the National Electricity Market (NEM) and is used to purchase all electricity. The electricity is then ‘on-sold’ to each of the customers at the site based on their measured consumption. A person who engages in the activity of owning, controlling or operating an Embedded Network is known as the Exempt Embedded Network Service Provider (EENSP).
When managed correctly, an Embedded Network can create financial benefits that can be utilised at the development; for example, to reduce customer electricity rates (better than those in the NEM) or invest in renewable initiatives. Unfortunately, these benefits do not always flow to the customer and sometimes a monopoly forms where a customer has no choice but to purchase electricity from the EENSP.

With the increased awareness of cost, reliability and carbon footprint, the importance of renewable generation is expected to play an important role in the establishment of the electricity landscape. Many organisations are branching out and considering their futures and how they move forwards. The importance of finding the right partner that supports your best interest will be paramount. Our specialists in the industry bring expertise, experience and in-depth knowledge.
If you’re looking to implement solar generation and would like to see how it work in an Embedded Network, or if you would like to run a tender to get the right quality system for the best price, let us know.
Storage of electricity is an important part of achieving electricity independence and reducing your reliability on the grid. Electricity stored in a battery is often the easy part, with true value coming from the management of how and when the battery charges and discharges. For example, time-of-use tariffs determine that charging the battery when electricity is cheapest, in off-peak periods, for consumption during peak times can create value for customers. On a larger scale (for Embedded Networks say), battery storage can be utilised to manage demand, the highest recorded electricity consumption in a defined period of time, which can lead to significant savings. Additionally, battery storage can be used to provide electricity during outages for a period of time. There are numerous benefits from implementing battery storage and having a good understanding of these before proceeding is crucial.
There are various different technologies in the market that can achieve this, however finding the right supplier can be difficult.
The adoption rate of Electric Vehicles (EV) is rapidly increasing and the importance of planning and structuring how a multi-unit dwelling, such as an apartment building, will manage EV Charging cannot be underestimated.
The electricity that supplies residential and commercial car parks is often wired to the Common Area electricity meter and is therefore the responsibility of the Owner, Owners Corporation or Body Corporate. This represents a significant risk as the increased consumption on Common Area electricity will increase costs and therefore levies on owners.
There are a variety of solutions that can be adopted, most of which involve a resolution from the group of owners. A resolution can be near impossible to achieve, and detrimental to those with electric vehicles, when a proven solutions can’t be plainly and simply explained to those making the decision.
Data is one of the most important aspects of the electricity industry. The key to successfully on-selling all utilities is the accurate and timely measurement of consumption.
Therefore, the meter type, the Meter Provider and the Meter Data Provider will all be crucial to the integrity and reliability of invoices supplied to customers. This is the case across the board for all on-selling activities, including: Electrical Embedded Network, Circulating Hot Water System, Cold Water recovery and Gas Embedded Network.
Regardless of whether you require manual meter reading or the provision of a live data feed, we can help you find what you’re looking for.
ENM Solutions’ team of technicians in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane provide manual meter reading services on a monthly and quarterly basis. We manually read thousands of meters each month for all utilities – including Electricity, Hot Water, Cold Water, and Gas. Our team is detailed and accurate in their works, so you don’t have to worry about the credibility of your data.
